Want to set up your email in a mail client or on your smartphone? Then you need the right server settings. In this article you will find all the details at a glance.
The server settings
In the settings below, always replace <uwdomeinnaam> with your own domain name. For example, if you have the domain vcloud.be, the server everywhere becomes mail.vcloud.be.
Incoming mail server
- Server:
mail.<uwdomeinnaam> - Protocol: IMAP
- Port: 993
- Encryption: SSL
Outgoing mail server
- Server:
mail.<uwdomeinnaam> - Protocol: SMTP
- Port: 465
- Encryption: SSL
Webmail
- Address:
https://mail.<uwdomeinnaam>
For vcloud.be, this means you enter mail.vcloud.be everywhere, and you can reach the webmail at https://mail.vcloud.be.
Important: always use your full email address as the username (for example
info@vcloud.be), not just the part before it. The password is the one you chose when you created the email address.
Step-by-step setup
We have a separate guide with screenshots ready for each device or program:

Why we advise against a catch-all
A catch-all is a setting that catches all messages sent to a non-existent address within your domain. For example, if someone sends an email to verkoop@jouwdomein.be while that address does not exist, a catch-all will still deliver that email instead of bouncing it.
That sounds handy, but in practice we strongly advise against it, for the following reasons:
- Much more spam. Spammers randomly guess addresses such as
john@,sales@orrandom123@jouwdomein.be. Without a catch-all, those emails are neatly rejected. With a catch-all, every single one of those messages simply lands in your mailbox. Your inbox quickly fills up with unwanted advertising and phishing. - Worse for your reputation. When you receive a lot of spam and your system responds to it automatically (for example with error messages or automatic replies), this can damage your domain’s reputation. Over time, your own legitimate emails will then end up in other people’s spam folders more often.
- Confusing. You no longer know which addresses are really in use. Typos in addresses are no longer noticed, because everything arrives somewhere anyway.
Our advice: simply create the email addresses you really need (such as info@, facturatie@ or voornaam@). Expecting mail at an address you only use occasionally? Then set up a specific forwarding address. That way your mailbox stays clean and your domain remains trustworthy.
