By linking Cloudflare to your Kyzoe hosting panel, you can manage your DNS records centrally while benefiting from Cloudflare’s CDN, caching and security (DDoS protection, WAF). This guide walks you through the complete configuration.
Before you start
Make sure you have access to your Kyzoe hosting panel (https://cp.vcloudhosting.eu), a Cloudflare account (the free tier is sufficient), and the login details of the registrar where your domain is registered. For Kyzoe domains, you manage this via the client area at https://kyzoe.be/klantenpaneel.
Step 1: First configure your DNS in the hosting panel
Before you do anything in Cloudflare, make sure that all the DNS records your website needs are fully set up in the Kyzoe hosting panel.
Important: the integration overwrites your existing Cloudflare DNS records with the zone file that is in the hosting panel at that moment. Missing records (for example for MX, SPF, DKIM or DMARC) will therefore be lost if they are not in the hosting panel first.
Step 2: Add your domain to Cloudflare
- Log in to your Cloudflare dashboard.
- Click “Add a Site” and enter your main domain (for example
voorbeeld.be). - Choose your plan (the Free tier works fine).
- Cloudflare scans your current DNS records. Check them and click “Continue”.
- Cloudflare shows two of its own name servers. Make a note of them; you will need them in the next step.
Step 3: Change the name servers at your registrar
If your domain is registered with Kyzoe, you change the name servers via the client area at https://kyzoe.be/klantenpaneel:
- Log in to the Kyzoe client area.
- Go to your domains and open the DNS or name server configuration of the domain concerned.
- Replace the existing name servers with the two Cloudflare name servers from step 2.
- Bear in mind that DNS propagation can take anywhere from a few minutes to 24 hours. Cloudflare will send you an email as soon as the domain is active.
If the domain is registered with an external registrar, change the name servers in that provider’s management panel.
Step 4: Generate a Cloudflare API token
To let the hosting panel manage your Cloudflare records directly, you need an API token:
- In your Cloudflare dashboard, click the user icon at the top right and choose “My Profile”.
- Open the “API Tokens” tab.
- Click “Create Token”.
- Use the “Edit zone DNS” template.
- Under “Zone Resources”, select the “Specific zone” option and choose your domain (or choose “All zones” if you manage several domains).
- Click “Continue to summary”, then “Create Token”, and copy the generated token.
Keep this token somewhere safe; it will not be shown again once you close the window.
Step 5: Activate the Cloudflare integration in the hosting panel
The integration is configured within the specific customer account in the Kyzoe hosting panel.
- Log in to the hosting panel at https://cp.vcloudhosting.eu.
- Navigate to the customer account concerned.
- Go to “Domains” and select the domain you want to link.
- Click “Cloudflare Integration”.
- Paste the API token you generated in step 4.
- Save the settings. The hosting panel now synchronises and pushes your local DNS changes directly to Cloudflare.
- On the DNS management page in the hosting panel, you can now switch the proxy status (the orange cloud) on or off for your individual A, AAAA or CNAME records.
When should you switch the orange cloud on or off?
The orange cloud (proxied) sends traffic through Cloudflare and activates the CDN, caching and security. Switch it on for your web records (such as @ and www). The grey cloud (DNS only) lets traffic go directly to your server; use it for mail records (MX, mail subdomains) and other records that must not go through Cloudflare.
Common problems
If you get SSL errors or handshake warnings after linking, check the SSL/TLS mode in Cloudflare. Set it to “Full (strict)” when there is a valid certificate on the origin server. If you get a redirect loop, the mode is probably incorrectly set to “Flexible”.
- If records appear that you don’t expect, check whether the zone file in the hosting panel was complete before the first sync (see step 1).
- Running into problems? Contact Kyzoe via the client area and state whether it concerns your own site or an end customer, and which specific error message you see.
