Supported PHP versions at Kyzoe Hosting
Kyzoe Hosting currently supports:
- PHP 7.4
- PHP 8.1
- PHP 8.2
- PHP 8.3
- PHP 8.4
- PHP 8.5 (available, but not recommended for production)
Below you will find a clear explanation for each version, including the official support dates of the PHP project.
Explanation per PHP version
PHP 7.4
- Status: End of Life (EOL)
- End of active support: 28 November 2021
- End of security updates: 28 November 2022
PHP 7.4 no longer receives any updates, not even security patches.
Using this version poses an increased security risk.
➡️ Only still permitted for older (legacy) applications that are not yet compatible with PHP 8.x.
➡️ Upgrading is strongly recommended.
PHP 8.1
- Status: End of Security Support
- End of active support: 25 November 2023
- End of security updates: 31 December 2025
PHP 8.1 introduced important language improvements such as enums, readonly properties and better error handling.
This version no longer receives security updates.
➡️ Suitable as long as applications require it, but not future-proof.
➡️ Upgrading to PHP 8.2 or higher is strongly recommended.
PHP 8.2
- Status: Security Support
- End of active support: 31 December 2024
- End of security updates: 8 December 2026
PHP 8.2 is currently one of the most stable and widely supported versions.
Fully compatible with recent WordPress and WooCommerce versions, and offers clear gains in performance and stability.
➡️ Recommended default version for existing and new websites.
PHP 8.3
- Status: Actively supported
- End of active support: 31 December 2025
- End of security updates: 31 December 2027
PHP 8.3 builds on 8.2 with additional optimisations, improved error messages and internal efficiency.
More and more plugins, themes and frameworks fully support this version.
➡️ Strongly recommended for new websites and modern applications.
PHP 8.4
- Status: Actively supported (very recent)
- Release: 21 November 2024
- End of active support: 31 December 2026
- End of security updates: 31 December 2028
PHP 8.4 is technically available, but is not yet fully supported by many CMSs, plugins and themes.
In production use, there is a real risk of compatibility problems.

PHP 8.5
- Status: Actively supported (very recent)
- Release: 21 November 2025
- End of active support: 31 December 2026
- End of security updates: 31 December 2029

In production use, there is a real risk of compatibility problems.
