Step 1 — Log in to the control panel
Go to https://cp.vcloudhosting.eu/ and log in with your account details.
Step 2 — Add the domain as an addon
- In the left-hand menu, click Domains
- At the top right, click Add domain
- Under type, choose Addon
- Under Domain name, enter your new domain name (for example
mijnnieuwedomein.be) - Leave Document root empty — Enhance fills this in automatically
- Click Add to confirm
The domain now appears in your list of domains.
Step 3 — Set mail routing to “Remote mail”
Because the email must not run through our server but through Google, you tell the system that mail traffic is handled externally.
- In the list of domains, click the domain you have just added
- Go to Mail routing settings
- Select Remote mail
- Click Save
Why is this step important? If you skip this step, our server will try to deliver mail locally and email will not reach your Gmail inbox.
Step 4 — Create the DNS records for Gmail automatically
- Stay on the domain page and scroll down to the DNS records heading
- There you will find an Auto configuration section
- Click Gmail — configure now
- Confirm the change
The system now automatically creates the correct DNS records, including:
- MX records that route mail to Google
- SPF (TXT record) that allows Google to send on behalf of your domain
- If you wish, you can add DKIM and DMARC later for extra security
Checking afterwards
After completing the steps, it can take up to a few hours for the DNS changes to be visible worldwide (usually within 15 minutes).
You can check whether everything is set up correctly via:
- MXToolbox — enter your domain and choose “MX Lookup”
- The Domain check in your Google Workspace Admin Console
Frequently asked questions
Can I still put a website on this domain later? Yes. Because the domain has been added as an addon, you can put a website on it at any time. The mail routing will remain set to “Remote mail”.
What if I accidentally chose “Primary” instead of “Addon”? Delete the domain and add it again as an addon. No mail traffic will be lost — nothing was active yet.
The Gmail “configure now” button does nothing — what now? Check that your domain is actually using our name servers. Otherwise we cannot manage the DNS for this domain.
